LAKE FUN

Buffalo is nestled between two beautiful lakes, Buffalo Lake and Lake Pulaski. Spending a day outdoors is a pleasure in the Buffalo area as residents and visitors have plenty of open spaces, miles of biking and walking trails and beautiful parks. A well maintained park system exists on both lakes. Facilities include playground equipment, boat launching sites and boat rentals, swimming beaches, athletic fields, picnic areas and shelters.

Located in Sturges Park on Buffalo Lake is the Parkshore Pavilion for recreational boat rentals. A nearly two-mile walking path and bike trail runs along the shore of Buffalo Lake from the library, past the Pavilion and down into Sturges Park.

At both Sturges Park and Lake Pulaski you can rent paddle boats, kayaks, canoes, stand up paddleboards, pontoons and fishing boats. Games such as bocce ball are also available for rent and can be used while picnicking in the park. Area residents can rent buoys for tethering sailboats, and rack space is available for canoes. The Pavilion is open on weekends beginning in May and is open daily in early June.
